More than thirty dads from the Waldorf School of Princeton participated in the 3rd Annual Waldorf Beeswax Bowl Bowling Tournament on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Hamilton Lanes in Trenton, NJ.
After randomly splitting up into teams, the Waldorf bowling began with gusto, enthusiasm, and bowling precision. Those observing would definitely have noticed the gusto and enthusiasm—the bowling precision, well, not so much! One team defied the odds and broke all existing Waldorf Beeswax Bowl Bowling records. For those rabid fans of Waldorf Beeswax Bowl history, you probably already know that a historic THREEPEAT was accomplished by Waldorf Dad John McGahren.
John is currently the only undefeated Waldorf Beeswax Bowler in the 93-year history of Waldorf education and achieved his third straight Waldorf Beeswax Bowl Bowling Championship title with this year's teammates John Orrok and Jay Fiverson. Next year, the rumor is that so many dads will be vying to be John's teammate as he defies logic in his quest for title number 4, he will need to be whisked into the bowling alley under tight security and an invisibility cloak. While the winning is exciting (especially for John), the real goal of the event was accomplished as every dad in attendance expressed that they had a lot of fun and met many other Waldorf dads.
The next Waldorf Dads Event will be the 2nd Annual Waldorf Dad/Child Field Day this May. Watch your e-mail for details.
